It has the ability to help those who hear it release deep seated tension and
allows a very deep relaxation. This workshop will

a simple but profound understanding of human nature and the universe in which
it exists. Explore yoga psychology and its parallels to modern psychology

A gentle introduction to the stretching, strengthening, breathing and relaxation exercises of Yoga. This class will

Restorative yoga has been called “the antidote to stress.” This form of
yoga consists of supported poses that lead to deep relaxation and profound
openings. By relaxing deeply into each of the poses physiological changes
occur that are beneficial to health and that can reduce the effects of
stress related diseases. No yoga experience is necessary. Diane Lagadec and Pam McGoodwin.

This afternoon class will offer kids (7 years and older) a chance to stretch
out and relax. Yoga instructor, Melissa Oddi-Morrison
will lead the class through a traditional yoga session and relaxation.

This class will give you the flexibility and strength that result from yoga
and the core stabilizing and balancing qualities that result from working
with the stability ball. Bring your ball, your 3 to 5 pound dumbbells and
your yoga mat and learn fun ways to incorporate the ball into your yoga and

It is common to have stiffness in the hips because we sit so much! Tight
hips can lead to such problems as lower back pain and problems in the knees,
ankles and feet. This class will address ways to stretch that will free and

In Ashtanga Yoga all asanas are synchronized with the breath, giving the practice
a very powerful organic effect. In this introductory class you will learn
the Standing Sequence of Asanas which includes Sun
Salutations and standing postures. It will also give
you the background that you would need to take the Ashtanga

Guruatma Singh Khalsa,
M.Ed., D.Ay, will be sharing some of the most sacred
and secret exercises of Kundalini Yoga. You will learn several sets that allow you to balance your chakras,
organize yourself and be happy. Learn how to develop
the 8 limbs of Yoga in each of these yoga sets. Experience in Yoga is welcomed
but not necessary. Bring a notebook.

The Yoga Sutras form the basis of classical yoga; they provide
the philosophy behind the practice and are a necessity for any serious student
of yoga. Study of the sutras will help deepen your personal practice and make
your teaching more informed. To prepare for these discussions please study any

For this workshop you must know the opening sequence of postures forAshtanga
Yoga. After we flow through the standing postures to warm-up, we will work
on preparations for the postures, alternatives, and the postures of the First

Gentle Yoga class here at The Center, will show you how to modify a traditional
Hatha Yoga class so that it is appropriate for students
with limitations.

“Students of yoga often begin to sense a heightened state of compassion
because the practice of yoga guides them toward self acceptance, which fuels
warm flames of kindness, care, and love towards one self. Self acceptance is
a prerequisite for cultivating compassion in one’s life” - Jennifer Jordan.
As we step onto our mats in this workshop, our intention will be to use basic
Yoga postures to develop compassion. Compassion invites us to open our hearts

in India. Created by ancient rishis from the seed
mantras of the Vedas, the sounds are designed to
resonate with the chakras. As powerful as it is, kirtan
is effortless and incredibly enjoyable! Come and experience this joyful but deep form of practice.

Focusing on pranayama, this workshop will cover
various yogic breathing exercises and let you experience the relaxing and
harmonizing effect that these practices can have on mind and body alike. Explore
the relationship between the breath and your body’s energy and nervous system.

and relaxation as you explore the and pranayama of a Yoga practice. Yoga Summer Camp will deepen
your practice, awaken the body and calm the mind.
Monday-Friday, Aug 9-13 7-8:30 am
Balance with straps, stretch with blocks and wrap around chairs. Join us
for a fun, informational workshop. Created by B.K.S. Iyengar, this form of yoga is known for its use of props as
aids in performing asanas in correct structural
alignment and allowing the body to feel the process. Iyengar
emphasizes standing asanas, but we will work with
seated and balance postures as well. Some yoga experience is
