This sacred, sensual, fun, and profoundly feminine dance form has roots in many rituals and folklores. Transformed by time and culture, passed on by women through families and tribes throughout the near east and Asia, "Belly Dance" is now popular with women the world over. It is for all ages, body shapes, and cultural backgrounds. In a fun, non-competitive environment you will discover new ways to express your divine femininity, find more bodily acceptance, strength, good posture and coordination. Get ready for a real workout! We are blessed to have extraordinary Belly Dance Teachers, Jemileh, Arusa Elnil and Meiver de la Cruz.

BELLY DANCING WITH VEILS: AN INTENSIVE SERIES! $90/Series or $35/each classThese 6 hours of class will focus on how to use the veil to enhance your dancing. Instead of a "prop" the veil is an extension of the dancer's arms; it adds lightness, elegance, mystery, and softness - as well as magnifies the movements of the upper body and expands the possibilities for creating visuals for your audience. These workshops are designed to compliment the training from your regular classes and are an intensive arm/back muscle-defining and upper-body strengthening workout. The classes will build up to a full routine and YOU will have the option of performing it with the group at the next Maha Yoga belly dance concert! Open to all levels. Must bring a veil (details will be provided to registrants). 3 workshops in the series:
2-4
Saturdays, May 10, June 14, and August 16
